Citizens Of The North – The Working Life

My father was a professional painter and decorator. He would return home at the end of the day, his off-white overalls, decorated with a hundred door, wall, ceiling and architrave colours. The odour of the turpentine was a comforting smell. It gave me a sense of my father providing for his family, I felt safe, fullfilled and loved. The following photographs are my response to the importance of the working life. Simon T Thurlow
